The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts rain will continue over parts of Queensland from the Gulf Country through to the Maranoa district, bringing patchy but heavy rainfall until Thursday.
Weather forecaster Alex Majchrowski said conditions from Thursday will be fine until the weekend, when more rain is expected in some districts as thunderstorms rebuild.
Chris Turnbull, Lansdowne, Tambo, recorded 90 millimetres in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Mr Turnbull said the fall was on the back of 95mm received over two falls last week and will set them up for a good season.
Karen Slater, Glenellen, north of Chinchilla, reported a total of 77mm overnight and still raining into Wednesday.
"It was just beautiful," Mrs Slater said.
