There were 332 were sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday.
A lot of younger cattle came to hand this week. The market for weaners, cows and feeders was fully firm. The bobby calf market still remains hard, with feed costs affecting this market.
Ian Gerke, Morayfield, sold light feeder Droughtmaster steers for $1010. Michael Emhofer, Peachester, sold a line of Droughtmaster steers for $890. K Mahoney, Hazeldean, sold Charbray heifers with calves at foot for $980 and weaner steers for $790. Phillip and Kelly Nash, Maleny, sold Droughtmaster steers for $895 and heifers for $750. Ricky Fry, Kilcoy, sold Angus steers for $1500, Droughtmaster feeders for $1110 and Brahman heifers for $895.
Thomas and Doreen Robinson, Mt Archer, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1300. Brett Gould, Ocean View, sold Droughtmaster cross heifers for $900. TS Carbery, Elaman Creek, sold Senepol vealers for $525 and Angus heifers for $560. A Jackson, Mt Kilcoy, sold young Charbray calves for $300. Graeme Ozanne, Colinton, sold Brangus male calves for $500. Mary Ellen Schofield, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster cows to $1000.
