Who would have thought we could have a white Christmas in North West Queensland?
It wasn't snow, but parts of Outback Queensland were hit with hail from thunderstorms circling the region on Wednesday, December 25.
Landholders experienced a white Christmas north of Mount Isa at Split Rock Station, with owner William Seymour capturing a photo (above).
Storms were short-lived with little rain recorded across the region.
No rain was recorded in Mount Isa however 0.5mm was recorded at Carters Bore, just south of Mount Isa.
To the north, Camooweal recorded 1.8mm, Lake Julius recorded 0.8mm, Normanton 5.2mm, Mornington Island recorded 26.8mm
To the east Cloncurry recorded 1.8mm and Julia Creek recorded 6.2mm.
Boxing day is predicted to be a hot one, reaching a top of 44C.
Friday shall cool down to 38C with a medium (40pc) chance of a shower expected.
Saturday and Sunday temperatures will begin to creep back up to 39C.
