EIGHT-year-old mare Money Ad can celebrate passing $200,000 in raceday earnings with another trip to Brisbane.
Money Ad (Ad Valorem USA-Quintessentially), trained in Miles by Bevan (Billy) Johnson, won her travel pass with a sizzling win in the RQ Summer Provincial Sprinters Series at Dalby earlier on December 11.
Victory has given her qualification for the $125,000 final over 1300 metres at Eagle Farm on December 21, meaning another trip to the city beckons less than a month after she ventured to Doomben.
On that occasion, Money Ad and Graham finished just behind the placegetters in the Country Cups Challenge, eventually running fourth to Mt Isa marvel Deadly Choices.
Ridden by Dakota Graham, Money Ad caused something of an upset at Dalby.
Punters put their weight - and money - behind the Beaudesert-trained Few Too Many and Brisbane sprinter Happy Hooves.
But neither had the firepower to thwart Money Ad, which returned $14.10 for a one dollar win investment and $5 for a similarly priced wager to run a place.
After settling down in fifth spot behind the leaders Pick Of The Pubs and Atouchmore, Money Ad gradually moved into the race from the 500m.
Rounding the home bend, Money Ad was still behind three runners but Graham had the mare lengthening stride at the right time.
Turning into the straight Wine Barrel zoomed to the front but wilted.
Just as Few Too Many took control from the tiring Wine Barrel near the 50m point, Money Ad pounced and won by a length.
Few Too Many (Brad Sewart for Ben Ahrens) finished second with third placed Wine Barrel (Les Tilley and Rex Lipp) another one and a quarter lengths behind.
Money Ad's win was worth $11,650, which lifted her track prizemoney to $200,425 garnered from 16 wins and 24 placings in 84 starts.
In earlier races. Glam Rock (Hannah Phillips), bred by NZ doyen Sir Patrick Hogan, finished third in the Maiden and The Potato Pontiff (Montanna Savva), bred by the former owner of 1997 Melbourne Cup winner Might And Power, scored in the Class 3 (2000m).
