There were larger numbers of drought affected classes included in the yarding of 774 at Toowoomba.

Numbers reduced by 247 head to 774 at Toowoomba on Monday.

Overall quality was very mixed with larger numbers of drought affected classes included in the lineup. Buyer attendance was generally good, however restockers were operating very selectively.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock could not maintain the levels of last week. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 10c/kg less. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced very little change in price.

Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade meet fair demand for the quality penned. Cows experienced a mixed trend with light weight poor condition lines selling to a cheaper trend, however medium and heavy weights received some small improvements.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 268.2c, to average 239c, and poor quality lines averaged 172c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 286.2c, and medium weights averaged 264c, and made to 276.2c/kg.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 305.2c, to average 287c, and a handful to the trade made to 309.2c/kg. The best of light weight yearling heifers made to 208.2c, to average 170c, and poor quality lines averaged 125c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 287.2c, to average 266c/kg.

Very light weight poor condition cows averaged 53c, and medium weights averaged 139c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores averaged 181c, and made to 197.2c/kg. Good heavy cows made to 250.2c, to average 240c/kg.
