WOOLGROWERS planning to upgrade their shearing sheds will have access to a range of tips, ideas and examples of innovative shed designs at a Shearing Shed Workshop in Longreach on December 5.
Designed to help woolgrowers maximise the profitability of their sheds, the free workshop will showcase a range of photos, videos and floor plans of recently built shearing sheds, as well as tips on running more profitable sheds.
DAF extension officer Jed Sommerfield said the workshop would be a great opportunity to learn from the experiences of other woolgrowers and get advice from professionals.
"The workshop will feature a number of presentations from producers and building and shearing contractors, focusing on shed design and the links between good facilities and profitability," Mr Sommerfield said.
"For anyone thinking about upgrading or building a new shed, the workshop will give them the chance to learn more about the process and benefits of upgrading shearing facilities."
Hosted by Leading Sheep, the workshop will be held at the Qantas Founders Museum from 8.30am to noon on December 5.
