A major agriculture innovation forum due to be held in Toowoomba next week has been postponed in the wake of severe bushfires and ongoing drought.
TSBE Food Leaders Australia were due to host the two-day 400M Agrifood Innovation Forum on Wednesday and Thursday but it has now been postponed until May.
Organisers say that as the event was to focus on increased investment in new technologies it was decided it was not ideal to host it at the current time and that their thoughts were with those experiencing difficult conditions.
TSBE FLA general manager Bruce McConnel said they felt hosting the forum next year will be more appropriate for the regional audience.
"It is with much regret that we are postponing this event this year but we feel that next year this forum can offer greater benefit to our ag community," he said.
The event will now be held from May 6, 2020.
