Maryborough is renowned for being the birthplace of PL Tracers, the author of the Mary Poppins stories and last week it hosted the 97th QCWA state conference.
Three hundred ladies attended the annual event which focused on many regional issues including drought relief, midwifery care in rural and remote areas and healthy eating.
Nutritionist Tara Leong from The Nutrition Guru and the Chef, was one of the keynote speakers, focusing on social media and how unqualified people are giving advice on subjects and willingly handing out misguided information.
The drought was at the forefront of many a conversation and acknowledging sheep was a highlight when wool was officially announced as the primary product for 2020.
The state conference is heading north next year with Cairns being the destination point in October.
