Bulls sold to a top of $14,500 at seedstock producer Nindooinbah's annual on-property sale near Beaudesert on Thursday.
Of the 40 bulls on offer, 26 sold for an average of $5,115 and a 65 per cent clearance rate.
Top money of the day went to 24-month-old UltraBlack bull Nindooinbah N617, bought for $14,500 by Consolidated Pastoral Company via AuctionsPlus.
A son of Nindooinbah K287 (ET) and grandson of Lambert of Brinks 317R3 (P), he ranked in the top 10pc for eye muscle area, rib and rump fat and intramuscular fat and in the top 20pc for low birth weight.
Nindooinbah manager Nick Cameron said Nindooinbah N617 was a second generation UltraBlack.
"He's showing all the attributes that an UltraBlack should show and his indexes are off the charts, his carcase is unbelievable" he said.
"He ticks all the boxes, he's very light on birth, he's a heifer bull as well but he's also got great growth and great carcase."
CPC also picked up the the top price Brangus bull, Nindooinbah N621, for $6000, as well as the first UltraBlack through the ring on the day, also for $6000.
The second top price of the day of $10,000 was paid by Jason and Amy Penny, Laurevale, Mt Kilcoy for Nindooinbah P155, an 18-month-old Ultrablack son of Nindooinbah M243 (NJ). He was one of two purchases for the Pennys to average $7250.
Volume buyers Ian and Gwenda Windsor, Mellew Station, Barcaldine picked out a line of nine bulls- six UltraBlacks and three Brangus- to average $4611.
Mr Windsor said they had been looking for new bulls to put over Brangus and Angus cows and heifers that they want to join soon.
"We've had Nindooinbah bulls before and been happy with the genetics," he said.
"They're good, growthy young bulls."
Paul Tully, Tully Pastoral selected three bulls to average $4333 while David Crombie, Aurelian Pastoral, Warwick picked up two bulls for $4500 each.
Stud principal Euan Murdoch said it was a tough sale, but that had been expected with the current seasonal conditions.
"Breeder numbers are down so demand is low... but there's always next year," he said.
