Nudgee College's Bush Boarding Bursary is open for applications now

The boarding community has been at the heart of St Joseph's Nudgee College since its founding in 1891.

For over 128 years Nudgee College has been providing outstanding care for boarding students from around Australia and beyond. As one of the oldest continuing Catholic boys' boarding schools in Australia, boarding is a part of both the college's legacy and future.

Nudgee College's Dean of Boarding Mr Christian Oneto believes there is no greater place for boarders from regional, rural and remote Australia.

"Nudgee College has a rich history and strong connections of being the home away from home for boys from the bush," Mr Oneto said.

"To honour the College's past and to help drought-affected families, the Bush Boarding Bursary is offered to exceptional students who live more than 200km away from Nudgee College, and whose family is unable to consider Nudgee College for financial reasons."

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, the college promotes a holistic approach to education, offering a rich diversity of educational opportunities in the classroom, in co-curricular pursuits, as well as in faith development and social justice activities.

The Bathersby Boarding Village is a contemporary and inviting home away from home for over 280 boarders from Years 5 to 12.

All boys are provided with an individual room to call their own, while also having access to several common areas for socialising with their peers. The design of the boarding village brings together all four boarding dormitories, ensuring the structure of the facility imitates the inclusivity that is evident throughout the boarding community.

The high quality of this residential facility complements the high quality of care provided by our professional staff. Boarders are supported academically by the 'Reach for the Stars' tutoring program, during which teachers from many subjects help our boys with homework, assignments and preparation for exams.
