Family-operated Western Downs feedlot Condabri has taken out the Coopers Animal Health Revalor Top Gun award for the second year in a row.
The award, recognising best-practice HGP implant procedure in feedlot induction, was presented at last week's SmartBeef conference, held by the Australian Lot Feeders' Association in Dalby.
Condabri, located north of Miles, claimed the honour, which sees implant success assessed by Coopers Animal Health, with each feedlot provided feedback on their induction performance.
Each feedlot must present 100 head to an auditor once a quarter, with the highest score at the end of the year claiming the top prize.
The competition has been running for six years now, with Condabri also claiming the top score last year.
Owner Simon Drury said they had been were especially proud to have been able to take out the award two years in a row.
"It's good to know that we're doing things right and raising the bar," he said.
"It's very hard to be the best and then maintain it is hard so we're very proud."
The Drury family has been running the Condabri feedlot for 25 years and have competed in the Top Gun awards since their inception.
Livestock manager Adam Rockemer was also on hand to accept the award, with sons Jacob and Riley also a key part of the Condabri livestock team.
Coopers Animal Health northern feedlot manager Brett Kowitz said participating feedlots get a lot out of the competition feedback.
