The Maynard family's 5 Star Senepol sale at CQLX, Gracemere, drew a strong buying contingent from a widespread area of Queensland and the Northern Territory on Monday reaching a top of $17,000 with averages and clearance levels up from last year.
Averages increased by $748 per head to $7425 and clearance levels improved by seven per cent to culminate in a complete clearance.
Chris Simpson, CAP Genomics, Brisbane, paid the top money for 5 Star 180816.
Sired by 5 Star Absolute-Hazeldean 04-40, the 22-month-old bull tipped the scales at 790 kilograms and had an eye muscle area of 132 square centimetres.
CAP Genomics returned to take five to average $10,400. Their purchases included $12,000 for the 24-month-old 5 Star 180821, that weighed 836kg with an EMA of 127sq cm, along with an $11,000 23-month-old, 5 Star Hefner son weighing 826kg.
Regular supporters, Alistair and Jo McClymont, Burleigh Station, Richmond, also returned to take a trio of Senepols for an average of $10,833. These topped at $14,000 for a 24-month-old, 738kg, 121sq cm EMA son of 5 Star 150206 from a 5 Star Titan dam.
Long-standing clients also there reinvesting were Phillip and Fiona Corlis, Glen Galla Station, Richmond. They signed off on five for on average of $7800, topping at $12,500 for a 22-month-old, 702kg first-release son by 5 Star 160506 (Charlie).
Shane and Amanda Watts, Sonoma Grazing, Sonoma Station, Collinsville, picked through the offering ending with seven for a $7072 average, topping at $8,500.
Dale and Emily Woolley, acting for Beryl Neilsen, Winchester Downs, Moranbah, was also on the list taking seven for a $5929 average. The Winchester draft topped at $8000.
The Wedel family, Zarpt Farming Company, Muidart Station, Dysart, selected a trio for an average of $7167.
Avago Station, Katherine, NT, acting through AuctionsPlus ended with four for a $7500 medium, while Des Coupe, Brookleigh, Banana, selected the top-selling Senegus bull, SSR 180031 - at 24 months of age and weighing 820kg - for $12,000.
Bruce and Beryl Donovan, Duaringa Station, Duaringa, took a pair for a $10,750 average, topping at $11,000 for a two-year-old by 5 Star Hefner.
Gill Campbell and family, Claravale, Mitchell, outlaid $12,000 for the top-selling Senelais bull SSR 180026.
