Average values increased by $986 per head across the board and clearance levels jumped by 15 percent at the annual Gyranda Santa Gertrudis stud, Theodore over the weekend.
The Mahony and Joyce families, Gyranda Santa Gertrudis, Theodore saw a top price of $16,000 attained three times and their product sell to all parts of Queensland, Victoria and WA in a sale where a complete clearance was achieved and a bottomline average of $7093 set.
In a breakdown of the offering 77 classified bulls topped at $16,000 on three occasions setting a $7435 average while 14 purebred counterparts topped out at $8000 to settle at a $5214 average.
First to make the $16,000 mark was Gyranda Pancho P416 (P) selling to Rick and Alice Greenup, Greenup Eidsvold Station Studs, Kumbia.
The 25-month-old son of Gyranda Cosmic C476 weighed 854kg with a 131 sq cm eye muscle area.
The next was the Proverb P678, selling to the Biara Stud, Northhampton, WA operated by John Hasleby and family.
The 23-month-old son of Gyranda Longshot L110 weighed 728kg with a 121 sq cm EMA.
The third to make the top figure was P432 (P) a 23-month-old by Rockingham Jace J228, weighing 796kg with a 128sq cm EMA, going to Jamie and Allison Becker, Jamally stud, Wandoan.
Jamally will also be the home of the $14,000 P164 (PS), a 24-month-old son of Gyranda Gamble G680 weighing 848kg with a 123 sq cm EMA.
Volume support came from John and Jo Knights, Warragumbah, St George who returned to take 12 to average them $7042.
Regulars, the Knuth family, St Pauls Station, Charters Towers signed off on six for an average $4834.
Garth Christensen, Campo Santo, Taroom took with him six for an average of $7417.
Darcy and Kara Knudsen, Rosehall, Mundubbera accounted for six at a medium of $5500 while Tim Kirkwood and family, Disney Station, Clermont picked up five to average $5400.
Scott Cattle Company, Milo Station, Quilpie purchased five to average $4200.
There were a number of bulls that made $12,000.
First of these was the 24-month-old Phantom P506 , weighing 862kg with a 130 sq cm EMA, going to Campo Santo, Taroom. The 24-month-old Puzzle P596 (P) weighing 880kg sold to the Cruickshank family, Rockdale, Theodore.
Donald and Margie Joyce, Belcarris, Taroom purchased 23-month-old, 804kg Patriot P242 (P) ( for same amount along with 25-month-old, 844kg Paradigm P520 (P).
Andrew and Lesley Cowper, Merino Downs, Aramac took the 23-month-old , 732kg, P510 (P), a son of Gyranda Lignum L164 (P), also for $12,000.
Rob and Annie Donoghue, Baradoo, Moura returned taking two for a $7750 medium.
Roberts Grazing company, Rooken Glen, Springsure accounted for a pair to average $8750.
Top selling purebred bull was the last bull into the ring, an $8000 son of Gyranda Lorax L794 (PP) going to the Beitz family, Middle Ridge, Amby who signed off on three for a $7833 average.
