Classified Santa Gertrudis bulls topped at $45,000 to average $9940 at Tuesday's annual Santa Central Santa Gertrudis Sale, Clifton.
In a three state and Tasmanian buying panel, unled bulls sold to a high of $34,000 while heifers hit $14,000 and cows and calves made to $10,000 culminating in a 77 percent clearance at auction.
Market topper was the $45,000, 21-month, 976kg, 136 EMA, Diamond H Valuer (P) sold by the Hatton family, Diamond H Stud, Chinchilla. Selecting the Wave Hill Jackal (Glenn Oaks Fleetwood) son were Moreton and Frances Rolfe, Hardigreen Park Stud, Wallabadah, NSW.
Glenn Oaks Nirvana (PS) (Waco Eland) sold for $40,000. The 29-month-old, 2019 RAS and Emerald Feature Show champion weighed 1136kg and was offered by Scott and Wendy Ferguson, Glenn Oaks Stud, Nobby, selling to the Hatton family, Santahat Stud, Monto.
Diamond H featured later in the sale taking the top unled bull honours. The Hatton entry, Diamond H V158 (PS) made $34,000. Another of the Wave Jackal sons, V158 at 22 months weighed 856kg and was sold to Scott and Rebecca Dunlop, Dunlop Stud, Proston.
Glenn Oaks Paisley (P) was the top selling female fetching $14,000. The 19-month-old by Yarrawonga Finisher carried a five month positive test to Glenn Oaks Nirvana (PS). Offered by the Glenn Oaks Stud she sold to Norm Black, Ayredale Stud, Federal, NSW.
