There was standing room only at the 35th annual Palgrove Charolais and Ultrablack bull sale last Friday.
It was a Charolais homozygous polled bull Palgrove Necessity who is ranked in the top five per cent of the breed for 200-day growth that met with spirited bidding and topped the sale at $38,000.
At 24 months of age Palgrove Necessity, a son of Palgrove Kudos (P) R/F from Palgrove Estella B703E.
Overall 82 Charolais bulls sold to average $10,122.
Palgrove Necessity has a weight of 1038kg, a scrotal circumference of 41cm, P8 fat cover of 10mm and rib 8mm, eye muscle area of 153sq cm and a marbling IMF percentage of 5.1.
He was bought by northern cattleman Bill Allison, Broadlands, McKinlay.
