A top price of $32,000 was achieved in aid of medical research for the Children's Hospital Foundation to support Digby's Destiny at the Heartland Santa Gertrudis Sale held at the Roma saleyards on Wednesday.
The classified 'S' Murgona Levi-R (PP) was prepared as part of Wandoan based breeders Daniel and Kasey Phillips, Murgona sale draft. Murgona Levi R (PP) was part of the Murgona draft and donated by their parents Rod and Leonie with all funds going to medical research for their grandson Digby who has been diagnosed with auto-inflammatory disease.
By the sire Diamond H Penthouse (P) from the Oakdale Jane matron he sold to Lindsay Park, Goonellabah.
The total proceeds along with the selling agents' fees have been waived by agents TopX and PJH Livestock.
Next at $17,500 was Murgona Light-Year (PS), a son of Yarrawonga Jupiter (P) from the great breeding Murgona Empress E27.
Mr Phillips said the $44,000 Yarrawonga Jupiter (P) been very successful throughout their breeding herd and his dam Express E27 is one of their best cows.
The successful buyer was Andrew Bassingthwaighte, Yarrawonga Santa Gertrudis Stud, Wallumbilla.
In all, 51 bulls sold from a draft of 65 offered for an average of $6821 representing 75 per cent clearance.
Wes and Sue Presho, Presho Cattle Co, Uptopia, Taroom, were active and secured Murgona Lieutenant, another son of Yarrawonga Jupiter (P) for $13,000.
