Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed generally sold to strong demand to experience only quality related price changes. Most classes of yearling heifers followed a similar trend.
The small selection of heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to solid demand. Plain condition cows to restockers improved in price, while slaughter classes sold to within a few cents either way of the previous week.
Well bred steer calves returning to the paddock averaged 266.2c, while drought affected lines mostly sold around 148c, and heifer calves made to 201.2c to average 170c/kg. A handful of vealer heifers sold to local butchers at 265c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to the occasional 272.2c with a large sample averaging 243c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 320.2c to average 271c, and local trade lines made to 309.2c/kg.
A small selection of heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 321.2c to average 280c, with local trade lines reaching 316.2c/kg. Drought affected light weight yearling heifers averaged 129c, while the better classes averaged 213c and made to 234.2c/kg.
Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 288c to average 254c, and heavy weight yearling heifers made to 295.2c to average 262c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export slaughter averaged 316c, and the bullock portion made to 328.2c/kg.
Poor condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 160c and made to 170.2c, while slaughter classes averaged 156c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 186c and made to 191.2c/kg. Good heavy cows made to 242.2c,with most around 230c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 260.2c/kg.
