DEPUTY premier Jackie Trad flew over Binna Burra in a chopper on Monday afternoon and described the view as "heartbreaking".
"Binna Burra was obviously decimated," she said.
Ms Trad commended the work of Scenic Rim mayor Greg Christensen, emergency services and local volunteers.
"I heard from the mayor that most of the people displaced by the fire have gone to stay with family and friends... I think this is a testament to the fact that during trying times Queenslanders pull together and shows our resilience," she said.
Ms Trad said she had been impressed by the frontline workers at the emergency response centre set up at the Canungra Fire Station.
She said people from all branches of emergency services, local and state government had developed a coordinated effort.
"To see them sharing information and responding appropriately was tremendous to see," she aid.
Meanwhile Cr Christensen announced that some residents who evacuated from Beechmont were now able to safely return home.
"Some have gone home already and others are choosing to wait until tomorrow, but the people at Beechmont are okay," he said.
