There were 298 head of quality cattle yarded at the eighth annual George & Fuhrmann Warwick Bullock and Steer Show and Sale on September 5.
Agents have claimed a new c/kg record for bullocks at the Warwick Saleyards with a pen of Charolais cross, bred by Jim and Janelle Stuart, Cedar Point, near Kyogle and exhibited by Sharyn Benn, Dalveen. The bullocks sold for 353.2c/kg, 639kg, $2257 and were 100 days grain-fed accredited out of the Freestone Feedlot near Warwick.
R Paskins, Carroll's Creek, sold 100 days grain fed accredited Charolais cross and Simmental cross steers for a top of 351.2c/kg, 710kg, $2494. Brad and Christine Williamson, Ballandean, sold the reserve champion pen of steers which were Angus/Limousin cross for 350c/kg, 476kg $1666.
The champion pen of steers were exhibited by Sharyn Benn and were out of Droughtmaster cows by Palgrove Charolais bulls and were bred by Ian Saunders, Mingoola, near Tenterfield. The pen sold for 332.2c/kg, 562kg, $1867.
Wickham Farms, Killarney, won the EU class with a pen of Charolais cross bullocks selling for 332.2c/kg, 664kg, $2206.
