John Galwey, Stuarts Creek, outbid all opposition to secure the top priced bull at the Wallan Creek bull sale.

Roma district cattleman John Galwey, Stuarts Creek, outbid all opposition to secure the top priced bull Wallan Creek Rambo N182 for $20,000 at the Nixon family's Wallan Creek bull sale on Tuesday.

Overall Bob and Anne, along with Tony and Jane Nixon offered 35 bulls and sold 24 for an average of $6021, representing 69 per cent clearance.

Wallan Creek Rambo N28 is a son of Ironbark Rambo from one of Wallan Creek's favourite females Lassie D069.

At 27 month-of-age, Rambo is a sire with plenty of growth and entered the sale ring with a weight of 1015kg and an eye muscle area of 132 sq cm.

Mr Galwey will join Rambo over unregistered Stuarts Creek Hereford stud females to breed commercial bulls he sells in the paddock to long time loyal clients.

Pinacles Pastoral Co, Taroom were active and selected two bulls. They paid $9000 for Wallan Creek Journey N196, a long deep bodied bull weighing 892 kg, with an eye muscle area of 131 sq cm.

Injune producers Murray and Jane Walsh, Taylor Grazing, Kevington, Injune finished with two bulls paying to $8500 for Wallan Creek McCoy N150.

As well they secured Wallan Creek McCoy N142 for $8000. Both polled bulls are by the same sire Tycolah McCoy J122.

Ian Galloway, Cootharaba, Roma, was active buying for Ian Hock, Kerand, Alpha, and finished with two bulls to average $5500. He paid to $7000 for another son of the highly sought after Tycolah McCoy J122.

John and Judy Sorensen, Beaumont, Roma also paid $5500 for a son of Tycolah Mccoy J122 for their commercial operation in the Bymount district.

The Griffith family, Stuart Downs, Wandoan, finished with four bulls to average $4000. Selling agents: TopX and GDL.
