THE 2019 Dingo Cup (1200 metres), to be run on August 24 at Bauman Park, has attracted 10 acceptors representing eight different regional centres.
Rockhampton and Gladstone share dominance of the list with either centre providing two possible contenders.
Jared Wehlow's Tadween and Authadane, from the Julieann Lancaster yard, will run for Rockhampton and Gladstone's colours will be flown high by the Lee Kiernan-trained La Celestina and Worth The Time (Denis Schultz).
Bluff has an entry through Milne Bay, trained by Ross Vagg.
Bundaberg mentor William Melville has entered Warners Landing and trainer David Jones has Gympie-based Cuthbert Gold engaged.
Taroom-trained Granola State (Rodney Hay), Petite Elle from Brendan Richard's Barcaldine stable and Chinchilla runner Silent Flyer (trainer Norma King) round out the list.
Wehlow has booked apprentice rider Greg Hayes for the mount on Tadween. Hayes can claim an allowance of three kilograms, which could lower Tadween's handicap to 57kg.
Likewise, King has opted for a claimer with Tessa Townsend to ride Silent Flyer, renewing a successful association going back to April when they shared a win in a Benchmark 55 event at Chinchilla.
Silent Flyer has managed two placings and two consecutive fourths in five subsequent outings for different jockeys.
Dingo Race Club officials have left no stone unturned to ensure an action-packed afternoon on and off the track.
Besides the five races on the card, there will be prizes for winners of the winter/spring Fashio,n On The Field contest, amusements and the increasingly popular dingo trap throwing competition.
As well racegoers can camp out for free at the track.
Those interested in commuting, can catch buses from the Shell Roadhouse in Blackwater (via Bluff) from 11.45am, 12 noon, 12.15pm and 12.45pm on raceday, returning at 6.30pm, 8.30pm, 10.30pm or 12 midnight.
Adults will pay $10 each for entry to the track and patrons under 18 will be admitted free of charge. A $5 fee for the bus ride will be donated to the Lions Children's Cancer Foundation.
