THE deadline for comment on the state government's discussion paper reviewing the Racing Integrity Act has passed.
State Racing Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the comment period closed today (August 26), a month after it was released for public scrutiny.
"The discussion paper outlined some cost-neutral options for streamlining the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission's review process," Mr Hinchliffe said.
"The QRIC has achieved a lot in its first three years and has the potential to become even more effective.
"The commission has demonstrated its commitment to tackling animal cruelty, race fixing, doping and other illegal activities in the racing industry."
QRIC Commissioner Ross Barnett said he welcomed the review.
