Wagner's Risdon Cup Super Saturday 2 has seen all club champion, minor premiers in the Wagners Risdon A, B and C grades, and the Emilee Cherry Open Women's 7s, all progressing to their respective grand finals on Saturday August 24 at Toowoomba Sports Ground (Clive Berghofer Stadium).

In Wagners Risdon Cup A grade, the battle-wearied Roma Echidnas met a mammoth task in the form of the reigning premier, club champion Goondiwindi Emus. Goondiwindi controlled the pace, with clinical, faultless rugby to romp home 49-11.
Toowoomba Rangers have eliminated the USQ Saints 28-11, to book an elimination final next Saturday, August 17, in a re-match of the Epic Super Saturday 1 encounter against the Roma Echidnas from 3pm at Gallas Fox Park, Roma.
B grade 2019 club champions, the St George and District Frillnecks won 29-12 over the Dalby Wheatmen, in an exciting attacking style, to book a grand final berth in a fortnight. Their B grade grand final opponent will be decided this Saturday at Roma, after Goondiwindi Emus defeated Warwick Water Rats 15-7, and now this Saturday play off against the Dalby Wheatmen from 1:30pm at Gallas Fox Park.
C grade 2019 club champions Goondiwindi Emus won 33-28 over Toowoomba Rangers, to book a grand final berth in a fortnight. Their C grade grand final opponent will be decided this Saturday at Roma, after Dalby Wheatmen defeated Toowoomba Bears 16-12, and now this Saturday play off against the Toowoomba Rangers from 12:15pm at Gallas Fox Park.
Emilee Cherry Open Women's 7s finals featured four matches last Saturday. In the major semi final, Dalby Wheatchix defeated Condamine Codettes 27-10. The elimination fourth vs fifth final went into extra time, with the St George Filly Frillnecks ultimately winning 20-17. In the qualifying final, the 2019 club champion Toowoomba Bears won 24-15 over Dalby Wheatchix to advance to the grand final on August 24, and the grand final curtain raiser on August 24 will be the Dalby Wheatchix against St George Filly Frillnecks, after an upset 33-7 victory for the Frillnecks over Condamine Codettes. What an effort in St.George's first year in the women's competition to feature on grand final day!
Remember that the Wagners Risdon Cup grand final day on Saturday August 24 will incorporate the coveted Downs Rugby Awards with an upstairs corporate function and on-field presentations.
