IT was a clean sweep for Adrian and Julie Nixon from Weetalabah Cattle Services, Dulacca, in the Gelbvieh ring on Thursday with the stud awarded both grand champion bull and female.
Judge Steve Reid, Talbalba Hereford Stud, Millmerran, said he was impressed by the line of cattle across the classes.
"We had some nice productive cattle with moderate frames and they very muscular," Mr Reid said.
"For the champions I found two individuals that I thought were really quite outstanding.
"The bull had some real sire appeal and the young female was beautifully correct, a really functional type of cattle."
Grand champion bull Weetalabah Phantom Menace, sired by Weetalabah Lumber Jack and out of Weetalabah Stormy Lady, was awarded junior champion bull earlier in the day and went on to take the top gong.
The 17-month-old bull weighed in at 674kg, recorded an EMA of 117 and a daily weight gain of 1.3kg.
The Nixon family's grand champion female Norelle Lady In Red was also awarded junior champion after going up against Kevlor Lady In Red, exhibited by Miles-based breeder Annie Minehan.
The 19-month-old heifer, out of Norolle Lady In Red and by Dve Davidson Pld Dan was awarded for her femininity and easy of movement.
Mr Reid congratulated all exhibitors for the quality of genetics on show. "They were all very worthy winners."
