The Norman Hotel raised the steaks on Tuesday night, hosting their first welcome night as part of the Norman Hotel Best Breed competition.
A range of canapes showcasing the Brahman, Charbray, Droughtmaster and Santa Gertrudis breeds were served to a crowd of close to 100 cattle producers.
"This is all about the Norman's Best Breed, we started this back in 2015," Norman Hotel manager Andrew Ford said.
"Everyone knows what a T-Bone is, everyone knows what a rump is, everyone knows what a grassfed or grainfed steak is.
"We wanted to do something different so we thought, 'why don't we do a promotion about the breeds?'
"It has been well received by our customers."
JBS business development manager Denis Conroy said the event was a great opportunity to bring everyone together at Ekka time.
"We do a lot of promotions throughout the year with the Norman," Mr Conroy said.
"They are very, very good promoters of the beef industry and that is what our business is all about."
