Numbers increased by 860 head to 7947 at Dalby on Wednesday, following the large yarding the previous week. A good panel of buyers was present with return of southern operators.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 3c/kg dearer. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 8c to 9c better. Virtually no heavy grown steers or bullocks have been sold at the time of this interim report. Poor conditioned cows averaged 5c better, pushed on by restockers and southern exporters, while the remainder of the cows sold to within a few cents of the previous week.
C2 yearling steers to feed made from 250.2c to 302.2c to average 290.8c. Same score yearling heifers to feed received from 222.c to 252.2c, averaging 238.3c to be 8c cheaper. D2 grown steers to feed sold from 226.2c to 228.2c, averaging 227.1c. C4 grown heifers made from 251.2c to 279.2c, averaging 266.5c, less 9c.
D2 cows received from 171.2c o 195.2c to average 182.8c, easing 8c. C3 bulls sold from 240c to 274.2c, averaging 254.8c, less 10c on last week.
