Volume buyers for the re-stocker market strengthened prices for weaner weight cattle at Biggenden on Monday.

Burnett Livestock & Realty's meatworks and store sale on Monday saw a yarding of 1882 head. The market was stronger for prime and feeder cattle and volume buyers for the re-stocker market strengthened prices for weaner weight cattle.

In the meatworks section very few numbers were yarded with bullocks selling from 270c-301c. Fat heifers sold from 230c-277c; cows sold from 200c-230c and store cows sold from 150c-180c.

Two tooth Droughtmaster cross steers from Byrnestown sold for 290c/$1487 and the four tooth steers sold for 270c/$1402. Milk and two tooth Limousin steers from Biggenden sold for 297c/$1260. Milk tooth Santa steers from Monto sold for 299c/$1343. Milk tooth Charbray steers from South Kolan sold for 305c/$1266. Milk tooth Charolais steers from Proston sold for 301c/$1102. Cattle were drawn from Thangool, Monto, Booubyjan, Woolooga, Stonelands, Proston, Gigoomgan, Yandaran, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gaeta, Rosedale, South Kolan, Mundubbera, Gin Gin, Wallaville, Brooweena, Hervey Bay, Childers, Gayndah, Mt Perry and all local areas.

The next meatworks and store sale will be on August 5.
