A total yarding of 913 head of cattle were penned at Roma's prime sale on Thursday. Steers over 550kg sold to 295c and averaged 278c, while steers 400- 550kg sold to 283c, averaging 242c. Trevor Britton, Trebar, Roma sold Santa steers to 295c, reaching a top of $1933 to average $1497. JD and VM Hartley, Kinka, Injune sold Angus steers to 281c, reaching a top of $2142 to average $2044. The Angus heifers sold to 270c, reaching a top of $1732 to average $1508.

Heifers over 450kg made to 286c and averaged 257c, heifers 350-450kg sold to 267c, averaging 238c. Hamilton Park Pastoral Co, Hamilton Park, Wallumbilla sold Brahman cross heifers to 286c, reaching a top of $1409 to average $1409. Bambloom Pty Ltd, Richmond Downs, Roma sold Angus cross heifers to 267c, reaching a top of $1403 to average $1240.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 256c and averaged 223c, while cows in the 400- 500kg class topped at 228c and averaged 199c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 205c and averaged 147c.

L and L Cormack, Crystalbrook, Wallumbilla sold Charolais cross cows to 256c, reaching a top of $1678 to average $1162. WH Cameron Family Trust, Kheri Station, McKinlay sold Droughtmaster cross cows to 245c, reaching a top of $1474 to average $1330.

Sandra Jephcott, West Berwick, Surat sold Cross breed cows to 237c, reaching a top of $1567 to average $1374. GT and LJ Proud, The Lamen sold Charolais cross cows to 235c, reaching a top of $1762 to average $1263. MLA and JL Morton, Ridgelands, Wallumbilla sold Droughtmaster cross cows to 229c, reaching a top of $1389 to average $1138.

Bulls over 600kg earned to 270c and averaged 256c. Farmleigh Grazing, Tunis, Injune sold Charolais bulls to 270c, reaching a top of $2296 to average $1959.
