The supply of stock increased by more than 2000 head to 7087 at Dalby today.
The overall quality of the heavy grown steers, bullock and cows was generally good. Buyer representation was good with additional southern operators in the buying panel.
Prices improved across most classes, with medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed 3c to 4c dearer and up to 8c/kg on slaughter lines. Heavy grown steers and bullocks gained 7c to 10c/kg, pushed on by southern operators.
However, cows improved the most to average 11c to 20c/kg better, also pushed on by southern operators. C2 yearling steers to feed sold from 280c to 312.2c, averaging 300.1c, up 3c/kg.
D2 yearling heifers to feed made from 204.2c to 230c, averaging 212.8c to be 34c/kg dearer.
C4 grown steers received from 295.2c to 320.2c, averaging 308.8c, up 10c/kg. C4 grown heifers made from 269.2c to 288.2c, averaging 277.5c, less 13c/kg.
C4 manufacturing steers sold for 280c, back 1c/kg on last week. D4 cows received from 236.2c to 259.2c, averaging 248.2c, up 17c/kg.
C2 bulls to feed received from 230c to 244.2c, averaging 232c, less 48c/kg.
