Mareeba agents penned a total of 322 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale.
Numbers decreased by 165 head on the previous week. Values improved on prime cattle with bull prices increasing by 30c/kg and cow prices up 28c/kg. Yearling prices were back on last week. The yarding consisted of 82 bulls averaging 171.6c selling to a top of 268.2c, 107 cows averaging 181.8c selling to a top of 232.2c, 47 heifers averaging 170.7c selling to a top of 200.2c, 34 steers averaging 219.2c selling to a top of 256.2c, 35 yearling heifers averaging 138.4c selling to a top of 160c and 16 yearling steers averaging 194.1c selling to a top of 210c.
The usual group of local wholesale buyers, meat processors and local traders were present.
