THE Winter Harvest Festival at Aratula proved as popular as ever, with thousands turning up to sample what the Scenic Rim has to offer.
Agriculture Minister Mark Furner joined Scenic Rim mayor Greg Christensen, with councillors Michael Enright and Duncan McInnes also in attendance.
Local produce was on display, with cooking demonstrations, market stalls and Scenic Rim goodies including carrot ice cream, beetroot fudge, camel milk gelato and sausages on a stick.
Live music throughout the day kept adults entertained while the children took advantage of the giant slide and climbing wall.
Competition was fierce on the carrotwalk for the vegetable-themed fashions on the field, with first prize awarded to Lyn McLean from Milford Country Cottages for her outfit, which featured a home-made carrot apron and accessories.
Runner up was Sophie Aisthorpe from Brisbane who came as an actual carrot.
A light rain did not put a dampener on proceedings, and the annual tractor pull drew a large crowd to watch The Butcher Co once again dominate the field, followed closely by the team from Kalfresh.
