A cattle tick incursion on the Western Downs has spread, with ticks found on two further properties.
A Biosecurity Queensland spokesman confirmed that cattle ticks have been found on a cluster of three adjoining properties in the Chinchilla area.
"Biosecurity Queensland continues to work with the owners and neighbouring properties to complete surveillance activities, herd inspections and tracing of livestock movements to define the extent of the infestation," he said.
"The investigation into the incursion is still in the early stages and a number of properties of concern have been notified by Biosecurity Officers."
Any further properties identified as having a risk following the surveillance and tracing activities will be contacted by Biosecurity Queensland.
Producers who suspect they have found cattle tick on their cattle should keep the tick and contact their local biosecurity inspector.
It comes after the initial incursion was found in May.
Meanwhile the state government is working to finalise a review of the cattle tick line.
