Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 343 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers decreased by 42 head on the previous week. Values reduced by 7c/kg mainly due to a weaker value for bulls and plainer cows. Store steers proved very difficult to move. Prime cows and bulls remained strong to slightly dearer and prime bullocks firm to 8c/kg dearer for the best on offer.

The yarding consisted of 105 bulls averaging 150c selling to a top of 255c, 91 cows averaging 154c selling to a top of 235c, 27 heifers averaging 195c selling to a top of 188c, 100 steers averaging 213c selling to a top of 265c, 17 yearling heifers averaging 194c selling to a top of 204c and three yearling steers averaging 180c selling to a top of 180c.
