A total yarding of 848 head of cattle were penned at Roma's prime sale on Thursday. Steers over 550kg sold to 275c/kg and averaged 255c, while steers 400- 550kg sold to 277c, averaging 238c. RJ Purnell, Havington View, Roma sold Simmental cross steers to 268c, reaching a top of $1963 to average $1938.

Heifers over 450kg made to 281c and averaged 247c, heifers 350-450kg sold to 231c, averaging 216c. NR Harland and G Humphreys, Barradine, Roma sold Charolais heifers to 281c, reaching a top of $1838 to average $1764.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 215c and averaged 198c, while cows in the 400- 500kg class topped at 208c and averaged 178c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 172c and averaged 144c. WA and KE Freeman, Meeleebee, Wallumbilla sold Santa cross cows to 215c, reaching a top of $1305 to average $1061. GN and JR Blackett, Marlee Downs, Mitchell sold Santa cross cows to 214c, reaching a top of $1236 to average $1034.

GS and CJ White, Marionvale, Surat sold Brangus cross cows to 212c, reaching a top of $1400 to average $1163. Noogilla Cattle Co, Woodlands, Mitchell sold Simbrah cross cows to 210c, reaching a top of $1163 to average $1163. Bangor Cattle Co Pty Ltd, Tomoo, Mitchell sold Brahman cross cows to 210c, reaching a top of $1108 to average $1000.

Kids Cattle Co, Lighthouse, Wallumbilla sold Droughtmaster cross cows to 201c, reaching a top of $1376 to average $1124. Melano Holdings Pty Ltd, Prairie Flat, Charleville sold Brahman cross cows to 200c, reaching a top of $980 to average $980.

Bulls over 600kg earned to 270c and averaged 221c. Cooba Cattle Co, Cooba, Glenmorgan sold Charolais bulls to 250c, reaching a top of $2250 to average $2250.
