As members of the red meat industry gathered in Toowoomba this week for workshops put on by the Red Meat Advisory Council to help come up with a strategic plan, there was plenty of time for networking.
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise Food Leaders Australia hosted a Meat Up event for the occasion.
TSBE Food Leaders Australia general manager Bruce McConnel said it was the perfect opportunity for the broader business community to connect with government and industry leaders within the red meat sector.
"Having the Red Meat Advisory Council hold their strategy sessions and board meeting within Toowoomba again showcases the importance of the regions producers and processors to the national red meat industry," he said.
Meat Up attendee Matt Norton, rural planning lead from Premise, said access it gave to the most senior people in the Queensland red meat industry was phenomenal.
"I don't think I've seen that many industry leaders in the one place at the one time and all open to chat," he said.
