Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 422 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers decreased by 194 head on the previous week.
Values improved on cows by up to 6c/kg. Store steers also saw a slight improvement up 2c/kg, but all other categories were back on last week. The yarding consisted of 87 steers averaging 218.1c selling to a top of 248.2c, 79 bulls averaged 174.4c selling to a top of 232.2c, 195 cows averaged 119.9c/kg selling to a top of 165c, and 19 heifers averaged 121.2c selling to a top of 173.2c. 26 yearling steers averaged 238.3c selling to a top of 255.2c and four yearling heifers averaged 140.3c selling to a top of 146.2c.
The usual group of local wholesale buyers, meat processors and local growers and fatteners were in attendance.
