The latest in precision agriculture technology was on display at FarmFest last week, including exciting new hardware and software from Ag Leader Technology.
The company showcased its new dual antenna GPS solution for auto-steer, and the latest cloud service features from AgFiniti.
Recognising the demand from bed-crop producers, like fruit and vegetable growers, Ag Leader has brought back the dual antenna system.
Ag Leader sales manager Doug Amos said the DualTrac was a high-accuracy steering solution for operations requiring ultra-low speed.
"Because it gives a constant heading, the machine always knows where it is so we get better line acquisition when people engage the auto-steer," he said.
"That allows them to go those ultra slow speeds, so down to 0.08km an hour."
The AgFiniti cloud service is not new to Ag Leader, but the latest features are geared towards further improving efficiencies and making more informed decisions.
"The latest part of the cloud service is a mobile phone app, so you can get any of your workers to log onto the app and then you can see where people are," Mr Amos said.
"Nutrient replacement prescriptions can now be done online in the app; we've put financial packaging in there, so we can do a return on investment of paddocks; and there's a field trials module in SMS Service so you can build your own field trials at home and it does everything, down to the optimal placing of the trial in the paddock."
