With the increasing focus on workplace health and safety practices on-farm, it's no wonder the latest Thinwall Trailers grain bin created huge interest at FarmFest.
The Thinwall AB-triple trailer bin was on display at FarmFest for the first time and created interest across the three-day event.
The beauty of the Thinwall trailer is that it unloads from underneath, with benefits that include safety from tipper loading, particularly on windy days.
According to Doug Thorne, Thinwall Trailers, Mt Gambier, SA, who made the long haul to Toowoomba, the trailer is ideal at planting time for carting seed to the farm.
"Once harvest begins the configuration can be changed and you can deliver your harvested grain to the nearest depot," Mr Thorne said.
Mr Thorne said the lead trailer, which costs $117,00 is 36 cubic metres and has a tare weight of six tonne.
The rear trailer for a B-double also retails for the same money, has the same tare weight of six tonne and is 48 cubic metres.
"The real benefit to farmers by unloading from underneath is there is no dust, it is quick and there are time efficiency gains," he said.
Other efficiencies include see-through grated catwalks to provide superior grip, arched top cross and integrated latch plate, and aluminum frame and contoured fenders with a flat surface for tarping and untarping.
Thinwall Trailers is a subsidiary of the Canadian manufactured Titan Trailers and is just opening in the Australian market. The all-aluminium trailers were invented in 1996 by Titan Trailers CEO Mike Kloepfer.
Titan Trailers are well known as a specialist manufacturer of all-aluminium bulk haulage trailers for the waste, forestry, agriculture and civil construction industries.
Trailers are manufactured utilising Titan's patented Thinwall product, with a 'strength through innovation' mindset, to build strong, yet lightweight trailers for demanding applications in single, B-double and road train configurations.
All trailers are designed from the ground up for the intended task and manufactured with aircraft grade aluminium.
The Australian product range includes fast unloading walking-floor, hopper and platform tipping units.
The trailers are built in the Canadian factory and are exported in flats packs and assembled in a facility in Mt Gambier before delivery.
