Numbers reduced by 572 head to 5182 at Dalby on Wednesday and similar to the previous sale, cows dominated the grown cattle section. Buyer attendance was generally good, with some additionally feeders and restockers in the buying panel.
Medium weight yearling steers, at the time of this interim report, have sold to a cheaper trend. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only quality related price changes. Medium weight yearling heifer to feed sold close to the previous week's levels.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks improved in price by 8c to 12c/kg. Cows generally sold to within a few cents either way of firm. C2 yearling steers to feed sold from 268.2c to 294.2c to average 281.6c, 6c less than last week. D2 yearling heifers to feed made from 146.2c to 204.2c, averaging 182.4c and easing 13c.
C4 grown steers sold from 282.2c to 302.2c to average 292.5c to be up 8c. C4 grown heifers received from 262.2c to 265.2c, averaging 264c to be 13c cheaper. C3 manufacturing steers received 270c. D4 cows sold from 185.2c to 215.2c, averaging 199.1c, less 5c. C3 bulls made from 214.2c to 274.2c, averaging 254.2c to be 5c better than last sale.
