Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 299 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers increased by 57 head on last week and values remained firm. This was a result of some better quality pens of store steers.
One very good pen of 12 Droughtmaster steers from Ravenshoe returned 276c/kg. The yarding consisted of 51 steers averaging 227c selling to a top of 262c. 30 bulls averaged 185c selling to a top of 227c, 86 cows averaged 119c selling to a top of 189c, 60 heifers averaged 150c selling to a top of 189c, 21 yearling heifers averaged 122c selling to a top of 174.2c and 49 yearling steers averaged 255c selling to a top of 276c.
