Queensland's elite campdrafter Pete Comiskey has claimed back-to-back wins at the World Championship Gold Buckle Campdraft and walked away with the sport's richest purse of $100,000.
Held at Bawley Point, NSW, on the weekend, only one point separated the top four riders with Mr Comiskey and his horse Brittany from Nebo in north Queensland securing the top prize by just 0.3 points.
About 4000 people flocked to Willinga Park on Saturday to watch the final round where the cattle were described as "so tough" leaving the first three competitors with nothing more than a cut out.
Mr Comiskey and Brittany had a combined aggregate score of 178.67, just ahead of Singleton horseman Josh Barnett, riding Duckreygeous, who finished the final with 178.3.
Hugh Miles, Tamworth, finished third, riding Two Timing Chic while Kimberley Sammon was fourth on Juliette's Romeo.
The final was broadcast live on free-to-air TV for the first time in the sport's history.
"We are pleased so many riders came out to join us, and we were able to showcase the competition at Willinga Park on live free-to-air television," Terry Snow of Willinga Park said.
"Once again we achieved our goal of changing the way that equestrian sports are viewed in Australia and now campdrafting has an even more impressive reach."
