Scott Buchholz will represent the Scenic Rim region once more, after regaining the seat of Wright.
At 9.50pm on election night, 48 per cent of the two candidate preferred votes for Wright had been counted.
On a projected two candidate preferred basis, Mr Buchholz was sitting on 63pc with a 3pc swing in his favour.
Labor candidate Pam McCreadie was sitting on 36pc of the two candidate preferred vote.
Paul Hanson's One Nation candidate Chris O'Callaghan recorded 14pc of the first preference vote with independent candidate Innes Larkin on 5pc.
Mr Buchholz has represented the region since 2010 and is an advocate for small business.
During his last term in federal parliament, Mr Buchholz served as the Assistant Minister for Roads and Transport.
