Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 155 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers reduced slightly on the previous week and values on average dropped due to the yarding consisting of culled cows and bulls.
Fourteen steers averaged 194c/kg selling to a top of 227c/kg and 40 bulls averaged 194c/kg reaching a top of 232c/kg. 76 cows averaged 132c/kg selling to a top of 189c/kg. 23 heifers averaged 178c/kg selling to a top of 193c/kg. One cow and calf unit sold at $440.
The sale was attended by three local wholesale processors and a small group of local traders, growers and fatteners.
