In a historic first, the Central Warrego Race Club at Charleville will host the Quilpie Diggers Race meeting set for this Saturday, May 4.
Quilpie's Bulloo Park racetrack received approximately 50 millimetres of rain in the past week, making the track very unsuitable for racing.
As the tiny township only has one meeting annually, the locals will still celebrate the rain in fine style at a phantom meeting at the Bulloo Park venue.
With the generous co-operation from their near neighbours at Charleville using the latest technology, the races will be live streamed back onto a big screen at the racecourse at Bulloo Park.
The strong six-event program has attracted strong fields from as far as the Western Downs, Maranoa and south west Queensland.
The feature race will be the Quilpie Cup run over 1600 metres.
