THE Thangool-based Damien Rideout will be Rockhampton bound on April 26 after accepting with two stablemates for respective assignments.
Rideout will travel north along the Burnett Highway bringing with him Mac's Mettle for the opening race, the North Tullamore Pastoral Company Class 2 (1600m), and Lennon's Paddock in the Thinkwater Wandal Need and Feed Handicap (1400m) a bit later on the card.
Mac's Mettle will have Gold Coaster Chris Whiteley in the saddle, a repetition of their outing together in similar circumstances on April 13.
Having his third start for the year, Mac's Mettle turned the clock to advertise some of his better form, running on late to grab third placing less than four lengths behind the winner.
It was the first time Mac's Mettle had taken place money since August when a minor placegetter at Yeppoon.
Rideout is sticking with claiming apprentice Thomas Doyle on five-year-old Lennon's Paddock.
An inconsistent runner, Lennon's Paddock is yet to shed maiden status and his 32 starts so far have yielded only seven minor placings.
However, two of those placings were recorded in consecutive stats in March when Doyle, co-incidentally, was the rider.
