Mareeba Combined Agents penned 181 head for this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers reduced by 111 head and values dropped by approx.5-6c/kg on last week. 55 steers averaged 195c and sold to a top of 250.2c for a pen of five steers from the Tablelands. 56 cows averaged 145c and sold to a top of 173.2c to the local wholesale trade. 54 bulls averaged 166c to top of 211c for two bulls sold to a local trader. 13 heifers averaged 138c to top of 168c for a pen of nice crossbred heifers from Ravenshoe. Three yearling steers averaged 182c to top of 212c for a pen of six crossbred steers also from Ravenshoe. The market was attended by thtree local processors and a small group of local growers and fatteners.
