A total of 307 cattle were yarded at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday, with numbers depleted after widespread rains. No bullocks, feeder steers or heavy heifers were yarded.
Bulls sold to a top of 224.2c/kg to return $1530. Cows sold to a dearer trend with the top cow reaching 219.2c to return $1402 a/c Myrtle Kanowski, Crows Nest. Medium weight cows also improved in price by up to 20c/kg.
Butcher trade heifers sold to 242.2c to return $808. Blonde d'Aquitaine cross steers weighing 211kg topped the day at 260.2c to return $549 sold on behalf of Neil and Claire Maddern, Emu Creek. Myrtle Kanowski, Crows Nest, sold lightweight Angus steers to 242.2c to return $496.
