Agents Hayes & Co had a good size yarding of 600 cattle at Silverdale on Friday. Grain-fed export and trade cattle were strong on the current market. Heavy feeder cattle were also firm in the tough circumstances while re-stocker cattle were easier due to dry weather conditions.
Grand champion exhibit of the show: was won by Glenvillan Pastoral (The Crawford family) with a Speckle Park steer which was sold for 308c/kg to JBS Australia and weighed 655kg to return $2017. Reserve champion exhibit of the show: was won by TP & JE Surawski with a Black Limousin heifer which was sold for 294c to Marcelford Meats and weighed 540kg to return $1588.
