A total of 720 cattle were yarded at Harristown Saleyards on Monday, where the market eased for all categories on offer due to continuing dry weather.
Bulls sold to $1969. Heavy bullocks reached $1690. Heavy cows a/c A and J Johnstone sold to a top of 173.2c/kg to return $1255. Medium weight cows sold from 100-120c with lightweight and plainer condition cows ranging from 70-100c.
Limousin trade heifers also consigned by A and J Johnstone reached 240c to return $992 with same vendor penning Angus trade weight feeder steers reaching 240c to return $869. Grain assisted Murray Grey steers a/c Gotz family, Biddeston averaging 435kg returned $913. Glen Voll, Goombungee also sold grain assisted steers weighing 450kg to return $990.
Best of vealer heifers yarded struggled to reach 130c with a large sample of yearling heifers selling under 100c. Lightweight Angus steers a/c Judy Anne Pty Ltd, Cooya managed by Wayne Schefe returned to the paddock selling to 240c to return $504.
