The annual Big Country Brahman sale in Charters Towers has started today, three weeks after its initial scheduled date.
The sale, which was twice postponed due to monsoonal rain and road closures has started at the Dalrymple Saleyards.
With light rain falling over the saleyards this morning, vendors and agents are optimistic for a positive result.
Red Brahman bulls will go under the hammer first today, followed by the heifers, before the Grey bulls are put to auction tomorrow.
It has been a tumultuous lead up to this year's event, with widespread flooding in the north.
GI Brahman stud were forced to pull out of the sale after three of their grey bulls succumbed to a freak heat burst following the flood.
